This recipe is so easy you'll probably have everything you need in your store cupboard already!
These are so quick to rustle up and can be made with anything you've got in your cupboards so cheap too (just how I like it!)
240g of chocolate (I used milk but you could use white, dark, orange, mint)
Baking paper
Toppings; pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, toffee, dried cranberries, raisins, sugar snowmen, coloured sugar - their the options I went for but again you know you can choose anything!
Method...
1. Break up chocolate into pieces
2. Melt chocolate in a bowl over boiling water (Make sure not to let the bowl and water level touch)
3. Add any liqueurs or flavourings' you want to add to chocolate at this stage
4. Lay a sheet of grease proof paper on a chopping board or something you can lift as you will need to carry the sheet into fridge without bending it
5. With a spoon, make buttons onto the paper (be warned this can be messy! Use a steady hand if you have one available)
6. Once buttons are made, add toppings. You could melt another type of chocolate and drizzle it over your buttons for a nice effect?
7. Once completed, leave them to cool for 15-20 minutes than put in fridge to cool. Leave these for at least 2 hours then with a spatula or if your brave enough, a careful hand and take them off paper to dress in a gift box or onto a plate to eat!
My buttons; 1)Almond, 2)Snowman, 3)Pistachio, dried cranberry & red Sugar, 4)Raisin & hazelnut (fruit&nut) |
Hope this inspires you – honestly the simplest thing to make and they look absolutely show stopping!
