Simple Shortbread

What's better than your perfect cup of tea and a lovely piece of shortbread on a Sunday afternoon? Nothing, so make these just in time for the weekend!

You will need...
125g Unsalted butter
55g Caster sugar (plus more for dusting)
180g Plain flour

Method...

1). Pre-heat oven to 190C (375F or gas mark 5)

2). Beat butter and sugar together until smooth.

3). Mix in flour, once its all mixed together you should be left with a dough like substance. Roll this out onto a clean surface until about 1cm thick.

4). Cut into your preferred shape and place on a greased baking tray. Chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.

5). Sprinkle sugar all over your biscuits before you pop them in the oven to bake for 15-20 minutes they should look pale - golden brown.

6). Leave on a wire rack to cool then serve or box them up as a prezzie like mine :)

They can last for up two 2 weeks in an airtight container but to be honest they've never stayed around long enough to see!

  2. Aw thanks Risa! I wanted to spruce them up a little bit so the flower print worked perfectly :) A cup of tea sounds good to me!
