On the evenings when me and Dan don't want to cook and just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bristol's city centre, we book ourselves in for dinner at The Ashton – one of my favourite country pubs oozing rural charm.
One of our go-to meals is the slow-cooked pork belly with seared scallops, crackling, black pudding, mashed potato, green beans, and apple ketchup – yum! It's a beautiful dish full of flavour and one i'd always recommend.
I absolutely love lobster rolls so couldn't wait to tuck in.
Sadly the roll was lacking quite a bit of lobster, but priced at £13.50 I should of guessed it wasn't going to be extravagant. Still, I must give credit the brioche roll and lobster were very lovely.
Do you have a favourite restaurant?
I'd love to add it to my must-visit list.
