The new restaurant has taken over the premises that used to house Caribbean eatery 'Plantation'.
The inside and out has now been completely transformed. Standing proud with a new bright yellow lick of paint and inside is just the same – flashes of bright and beautiful colours surrounding the place.
I absolutely love the tin shack feeling that Turtle Bay restaurants' have.
The food was just as punchy – full of personality and flavour. I'm not the best for spicy food and although lots of it did have a real kick, nothing was too spicy that it was unbearable.
For me, the star of the show (excluding the cocktails because they were amazing!!) were the delicious spicy white bait that you can see above.
Plus, the staff were so lovely and helpful that it made our night even better. We had a great time chatting with the staff, who we can tell have a real passion for Caribbean culture.
The restaurant opens to the public today! Make sure to swing by as they're hosting a 'Pay As You Feel' day in support of the Malcolm X Community Centre.
Diners will only be asked to pay what they think their food is worth. This will then be matched by Turtle Bay and all proceeds will go to support the local charity.
Amongst other dishes, they'll be
serving up their signature jerk chicken, Caribbean burgers, BBQ prawns and goat curry – so there is something for everyone!
Plus, their (very happy) Happy Hour will be running from 11:30am till 7pm and then again after 10pm when cocktails will be 2-4-1!
